Dr. Y. S. Khedkar International School (I-X) & Kids’ World School (Pre-Primary) was started in 2000 by a group of leading citizens from different walks of life under the umbrella of the Bhagwan Shikshan Prasarak Mandal.
A child comes to school to learn, understand and develop. The idea is to make learning interesting and understandable to actually achieve these goals. So, the whole academic process has been segregated into manageable units and then presented to the child.
The city of Aurangabad, which by the turn of the century had out grown in size and proportion since the inception of the Bhagwan Shikshan Prasarak Mandal in 1964. A severe dearth of a good English medium C.B.S.E. School was earnestly felt by the Trust and hence this School was specially designed and commenced to educate the off-springs of the Society in January 2000.Today it has reached its Std. 10th by natural growth and is affiliated to the C.B.S.E, New Delhi.

As per the recommendations of CBSE, we follow Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in school. CCE is a developmental process of assessment which emphasizes on two fold objectives – Continuity and Evaluation, on the one hand and Assessment of broad range of instructional outcomes on the other. The ‘continuous’ aspect of CCE takes care of ‘continual’ and ‘periodicity’ aspect of evaluation. Continual means assessment of students in the beginning of instructions (placement evaluation) and assessment during the instructional process (formative evaluation) is done informally using multiple techniques of evaluation. Periodicity means assessment of performance done frequently at the end of unit/term (summative) the ‘comprehensive’ component of CCE takes care of assessment of all round development of the child’s personality. It includes assessment in Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic aspects of the pupil’s growth.
Scholastic aspects include curricular areas or subject specific areas, whereas co-scholastic aspects include Life Skills, Co-Curricular, attitudes and values. Assessment in scholastic areas is done informally and formally using multiple techniques of evaluation continually and periodically. The diagnostic evaluation takes place at the end of unit/term. Assessment in Co-Scholastic areas is done using multiple techniques on the basis of identified criteria, while assessment in Life Skills is done on the basis of Indicators of Assessment and checklists.
Continuous and comprehensive evaluation is adopted for classes I to V. The objective is to evaluate the learner in a holistic manner so that the latent competencies are reflected appropriately in their report. It would also help in identifying their positive attributes and encouraging them rather than identifying what they are not capable of. The continuous and comprehensive evaluation would be spread over the year and four assessments are made during the years. Five point scales is used for indicating the achievements.
Scheme of continuous and comprehensive evaluation is introduced at the middle-school level (for classes VI to VIII) also. Nine point grading system is used for indicating the achievements. There will be two terms. Each term will have two Formative and one Summative Assessment. Assessment will be indicated in Grades. The Grading Scale for the Scholastic Areas is a Nine Point Grading Scale. Overall grade of Formative Assessments over the two terms i.e. (FA1+FA2+FA3+FA4) and the overall grade of Summative Assessment (SA1+SA2) is given. Final grade is based on overall Formative Assessment & Summative Assessment. IX & X CCE for assessment is used over a continuous period of two years i.e. classes IX and X.
